foundation-registry

The general purpose registry to register anything required by components. It has a similar concept as OSGi declarative service. Its main purpose is a way to associate a name with a function, such that the name can be specified in the markup to represent a certain behavior. The component then will pick the behavior associated with that name from the registry. Consult individual component documentation on what extension it provides.

The recommended way to do registration is by using the AdaptTo interface, instead of using Granite.UI.Foundation.Registry directly.

AdaptTo Interface

type
foundation-registry
condition
window object
returned type
FoundationRegistry

Example:

$(window).adaptTo("foundation-registry").register("foundation.admin.properties.activator.action", {
  name: "foundation.pushstate",
  handler: function() {}
});

Granite.UI.Foundation.Registry

A singleton object is exposed at Granite.UI.Foundation.Registry, having the following interface:

interface FoundationRegistry {
  /**
   * Registers a config with the given name.
   *
   * <p>The name acts as a key. The name MUST be namespaced. e.g. <code>foundation.adapters</code>.
   * <code>foundation</code>, <code>base</code>, <code>granite</code>, <code>cq</code> namespaces are reserved. Application level code MUST use its own namespace.</p>
   * <p>The config can be an arbitary object. The component provides the details.</p>
   */
  register(name: string, config: any): void;

  /**
   * Returns an array of configs registered for the given name.
   * If no config is registered for that name, empty array is returned.
   */
  get(name: string): any[];
}
