Adobe XD Developer FAQ
We are no longer accepting new plugins for Adobe XD in our Marketplace. Existing published plugins can continue to be managed and updated via the Developer Distribution portal. The UXP Developer Tool (UDT) will continue to support plugin development. Refer to this document for the overall plans for Adobe XD.

FAQ
What does ‘existing plugins can continue to be managed’ mean?
If you already have ‘published’ plugins in Adobe Marketplace, you can continue to submit patches or newer versions for it.
What happens after the deadline if my XD plugin is in Draft, or Rejected state in Developer Distribution?
The review team will not review any submissions for new plugins after November 15th, 2024. It may sometimes take a few iterations of feedback before a plugin is ready for publishing. Please plan ahead and ensure that your plugin is approved before the cut-off date. Make sure you review the next steps for your plugin in the following state:
- Draft: Submit your plugins for review well in advance. Start in advance so that you have enough time to work on the feedback from the review team.
- Pending Review: The review team will try its level best to promptly review your plugins. However, please start the process as early as you can so that they are given enough time to provide feedback. As stated above, the team will not review submissions after the cut-off date.
- Approved: Once your plugin is approved after review, you are free to publish it at your will. If you chose, ‘Publish manually’, you can publish it after the cut-off date as well.
- Rejected: A plugin is rejected if it doesn’t comply with the guidelines. Make sure you work on the feedback and resubmit your plugin promptly. After the cut-off date, you will not be able to re-submit the plugin for review.
- Retracted: If you have retracted a plugin for any reason, you have time until the cut-off date to reinitiate the process. Ensure that your plugin is submitted, reviewed, and approved before the cut-off date.
- Published state: You can continue to update the listing metadata and add patches to your existing published plugin post cut-off date.
Can I distribute the plugins privately?
Yes. However, we do not plan on making any upgrades. And there is no support from Adobe for privately installed plugins.
Is XD going to get the latest version of UXP?
No. XD will have UXP v7.3.2. No further updates to UXP are planned for XD.
How long will the documentation exist?
As long as XD is in maintenance mode, the documentation will be available online at https://developer.adobe.com/xd/uxp/. However, we are not making any updates. Please note that although we plan to stop hosting the old documentation at https://adobexdplatform.com/plugin-docs/, you may fork the repo at https://github.com/AdobeXD/plugin-docs if would like to keep a backup of the documentation.
Where can I talk about this with other developers?
You can continue to use forums.creativeclouddeveloper.com
